Clare Hunt shared her appreciation for our Foundation and its provision for local children after dropping by its Summer of Sport Festival today.

The event was one of celebration for youngsters who have taken part in the Foundation’s multi-sports camps throughout the school holidays, as part of its Summer of Spurs programme.

It involved an array of sporting activity, with Clare participating in a parachute game, relay races and football, before posing for photos and signing autographs.

Cattleya, 11, from Haringey, was among excited children who donned a Spurs shirt for the occasion.

She said: “I did the multi-sports camp sessions and they were really fun, just like today. Clare signed my shirt and we got to give her a high five when she arrived – it feels really good to have a signed shirt!”

Clare joined us recently from Paris Saint-Germain and said on arrival she was keen to inspire young boys and girls through football.

Speaking after the Summer of Sport Festival, the Australian defender said: “It’s nice to represent the Club in this way and seeing what they’re doing, through the Foundation, for junior football.

“To have seen the activities and the engagement of the kids here, it’s really cool, and some of them are quite talented. It’s important to try and inspire and engage young people through what they’re passionate about, and I’m glad to have a platform to help do that here in North London. To be here today at this Summer of Spurs session was special and giving these kids someone to look up to in the football world is an opportunity I’m grateful for.”

Philip Rudling, Foundation head of programmes, said: “We’ve had a brilliant almost six weeks running daily activities for young people in Haringey, Enfield and surrounding boroughs, and following Pape Matar Sarr dropping by last week, Clare’s visit today was a great way to top off this Summer of Spurs.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to our amazing funders, including the Premier League Charitable Fund and People’s Postcode Lottery. Without their support, we’d not be able to provide these important opportunities for the next generation.”
