'An opportunity to put things right' - Solanke ahead of Everton

Dominic Solanke has labelled Saturday's Premier League clash with Everton as 'an opportunity to put things right' after we held by Leicester in our season opener on Monday.

After a frustrating night at the King Power on Monday where, despite dominating the game, a lack of cutting edge saw us punished by Leicester and forced to settle for a point, Dominic is eager for us to get our first win of the campaign this weekend as we host the Toffees at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Having made his debut for the Club in the trip to Leicester, our new front man will be hoping he can make his home bow this Saturday and help us move on from the Foxes frustrations.

And he'll be hoping he can continue his fine record against Everton - in his career, only against Huddersfield (seven) has he enjoyed more wins than the Merseyside club (five) - while he was also on target in his last appearance against the Toffees.

Looking ahead to the clash in N17, Dom said: "I'm looking forward to it. It's an opportunity to go and put things right in front of our fans and for me to play in the stadium (as a Spurs player for the first time)."

While our new number 19 made his debut at the King Power, he was also joined by Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray in earning their Spurs bows.

The summer arrival from AFC Bournemouth started the game while Lucas, who signed for us from Djurgardens IF in January before arriving at the start of July, and Archie, a July signing from Leeds, came on as substitutes late in the second half.

All three have since been assigned Legacy Numbers as is now part of tradition for Spurs debutants following the launch of the initiative in October, 2023.

While making their Spurs debuts, the game also marked Lucas and Archie's Premier League debuts.

So how did a now well-versed player in the competition in Dom think the two 18-year-olds performed on their top flight bows?

"They are top players," he smiled as he discussed Lucas and Archie. "They had a great pre-season from what I saw and obviously I've been with them for a week now.

"They are great talents and there is great talent throughout the team so I'm looking forward to playing alongside them for the rest of the season."
