Spurs vs Brighton (WSL) | Team news | Bizet out, Thomas & Spence doubts

Thu 25 April 2024, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Celin Bizet remains out for Sunday’s clash against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women’s Super League (2pm UK), while Martha Thomas and Drew Spence will face late fitness tests.

Celin missed our trip to Manchester United last weekend after picking up a minor foot injury and Robert Vilahamn confirmed that she will miss the game against the Seagulls, but is hopeful she will be back in training next week.

Martha, who started the game at Leigh Sports Village, was taken off just after the half hour mark last Sunday as a pre-caution and the Scotland international, alongside Drew, will be assessed in the coming days.

When asked about the latest team news in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Robert said: “We took no chances when she [Martha] felt something in the game, so week took her off. She was part of training today and then we will see if it’s possible to play her on Sunday or whether she will need to rest, we will know that on Saturday.

“Drew also had a little feeling during the game and we will have to wait and see on Saturday whether she is ready for this week. Celin had some issues with her foot, so she will probably not be in the squad this weekend and, hopefully, back in training next week.”
