My mate Sonny, in 400 words...

Heung-Min Son became only the 14th player to make 400-plus appearances in all competitions for the Club when he led the team out at West Ham on Tuesday night.
Sonny made his debut in 2015, a year after Ben Davies arrived from Swansea. The pair have forged a great friendship in almost nine years together... so who better to talk about Sonny reaching the 400-game mark than the man who knows him best?
The challenge we set was for Ben to sum up those nine years with Sonny in 400 words, to match his latest milestone....

"I remember when Sonny first arrived at Spurs, this excited guy who brought an energy to the team with his sheer enthusiasm for football. Then he showed us that incredible technique, left foot, right foot, the way he finished off both, so he stood out straight away. The first year was quite challenging for Sonny, but he always seemed to have an impact, and he’s just grown and grown over the years.
"If you look at his goalscoring record… it’s insane. The sheer consistency. After that tough first year, he’s scored double figures just about every season, mainly from the wing (21, 18, 20, 18, 22, 24, 14, now 15 this season), and that’s no mean feat, but he’s done it, on repeat, season after season. It almost goes under the radar, but it’s incredible.
"As captain of South Korea and now Spurs this season, he leads by example. Everything he does is for the good of the team, always striving to be better with his attitude, mindset and determination. He takes all that responsibility when he steps out onto the pitch and as a figurehead for both teams, he sets the standard every day.
"Away from football, sometimes it’s quite challenging being as famous as Sonny! Life is pretty hectic at times. I was 22 when he arrived at Spurs, Sonny was 23, so we’ve grown up together. Our lives have changed a lot in that time. For instance, I became a father last summer. Sonny and Joe Rodon were two of the first people to come and visit after we brought our baby home. That’s typical of Sonny.
"Away from football, we’ll go out for a coffee, he’ll arrive with a hat on and try to be as discreet as he can be, but, being Sonny, that’s not always possible! He’s got an incredible fanbase in Korea who absolutely adore him, so, if anything, we all bring a bit of normality to his life - when we sit together at breakfast every morning at the training centre, myself, Fraser Forster, we’ll give him a bit of stick and that brings him back down to earth, but he’ll give as good as he gets!
"We’ve known each other for almost nine years now… Sonny’s a world-class player and, above all, a world-class person, and it’s been an absolute joy to get to know him on and off the pitch."
