Sonny named Player of the Match after brace at the Emirates
Mon 25 September 2023, 13:30|Tottenham Hotspur
Heung-Min Son was named our supporters' HSBC Player of the Match after he became the first ever Spurs player to strike a brace at the Emirates as we claimed a 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
Picking up his second Player of the Match award of the season having take the prize against Burnley at the start of the month, Sonny claimed 58 per cent of the vote in an exclusive poll on our official app straight after the game.
Keeping our unbeaten start to the league going at the Emirates, our number seven twice proivded a leveller for us, firstly diverting James Maddison's cut back past David Raya on 42 minutes to bring the scores back to one a piece before he was coolness personified on 55 minutes as he slotted home once more to cancel out the Gunners lead just a minute after they had registered.
Those were his 149th and 150th goals for the Club - he is just the sixth player in our history to hit such a milestone. They were also his sixth and seventh goals in the north London derby - he is just the fifth player to hit that tally for the Club.
