Sheffield United win secures best ever start to a Premier League campaign

Sun 17 September 2023, 18:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Saturday's 2-1 win over Sheffield United sealed our best-ever start to a Premier League season after five games.

Having fallen behind to the Blades with 74 minutes on the clock at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we summoned incredible character to tun the game on its head in added time, scoring twice in the final four minutes through Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski to make it four wins and a draw from our opening five games.

Never before have we collected 13 points from the first 15 in the Premier League. Our previous best points tally after five games was 12 points - a tally we achieved after five matches in both the 2009/10 and 2013/14 campaigns.

The most points we have picked up after six games in a Premier League season is 14 points - something we achieved in both the 2016/17 and 2022/23 campaigns.
