Micky van de Ven has spoken of his pride in receiving his first international call-up for the Netherlands.
Named in his the provisional squad in mid August after bright beginnings to his Spurs career, Micky was then named in Ronald Koeman's final 25 on Friday (1 September) with his strong start in England's top flight continuing.
After another fine performance as we defeated Burnley 5-2 on Saturday afternoon to continue our unbeaten start to the Premier League season, the 22-year-old then travelled across the North Sea back to his homeland to link up with the Netherlands' senior squad for the first time.
Having been dropped off by his father to the KNVB campus, the home of the Netherlands football association in Zeist, the defender will now be part of the Oranje squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Greece on Thursday (7 September) before playing the Republic of Ireland on Sunday (10 September).
Reflecting on his call-up, the central defender said, "(It's) fantastic. It's a great honour to be here. It's something beautiful.
"It's another milestone in a short career. (My father) told me to enjoy (it) and show what I can do.
"I have to say, I haven't had the realisation moment yet. My family helps me to think about it more often. It's all going quite fast and I hope to keep this pace."
