Ange on the team’s character: “There are really good signs there”

Ange Postecoglou has been impressed with the character on show in the first few weeks of the season.
That was put to the test again at Burnley on Saturday where, after the blow of losing on penalties to Fulham in the Carabao Cup in midweek, we found ourselves 1-0 down inside five minutes.
The reaction was impressive, to say the least. We were level 10 minutes later, got on top, started creating chances, went ahead before half-time and then put the game to bed with three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half, putting us 5-1 up.
Heung-Min Son bagged his fifth hat-trick for the club and Cuti Romero and James Maddison struck beauties, crucial goals either side of the break.
Speaking to SPURSPLAY, Ange reflected: “Even (at Fulham) in midweek, I know everyone was disappointed, but we hung in there, and we’ve showed that already.
“At Brentford we were 2-1 down and fought our way through that (drew 2-2), we’ve had four away games (out of five), we know they’re not easy and I think the way the lads have navigated that has been outstanding.
“Then, in the home game we had (2-0 win against Manchester United), they were brilliant. From our perspective, while we’re still really early in terms of trying to build this team, there are some real good signs there around the character and belief they have.”
