Ange on Brennan Johnson: "He's ambitious, hungry, he'll fit in well"

Ange Postecoglou described Brennan Johnson as 'exciting' and 'a real threat' as he expressed his delight at the young forward's arrival from Nottingham Forest.

Brennan, Championship Young Player of the Season in 2021/22, already capped 20 times by Wales at the age of 22, joined us on deadline day on a deal until 2029. He will wear number 22.

Asked why he looked to bring Brennan to the club at his post-match press conference following our 5-2 win at Burnley, Ange replied: "He's another exciting young player. He's a real threat in the front third and he's a bit different to what we've already got. He's young, ambitious... it's no secret that's been the model for me not just here, but wherever I've gone.

"It's just as much about the person you're bringing in as the footballer. Looking at him, he's going to fit in really well with this group because he's really ambitious and hungry and he wants to take his game to another level. The technical and the physical attributes he has, I think he should fit in really well with us."
