Van de Ven named Player of the Match after Selhurst bout

Micky van de Ven was named our supporters' HSBC Player of the Match after his dominant performance in our 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Friday night.
Claiming his second Player of the Match award of the season, Micky claimed a commanding 52 per cent of the vote in an exclusive poll on our official app straight after the game.
Having taken the award for the first time in our 1-0 win at Luton Town at the start of the month after he produced the match-winning goal and was resilient in defence as we had to defend the lead with just nine outfielders, he once again showed his brilliance at the back against the Eagles as we picked up our fourth win on the trot.
Partnering Cristian Romero at the heart of our defence, the Netherlands international's incredible speed came in handy as we battled against a pace-laden Palace forward line and had to deal with a number of counter attacks.
In the game, the defender enjoyed a 99 per cent pass completion rate, the highest recorded by any starter, completing 96 of 97 attempted - only Cristian Romero's record-breaking return of 141 passes completed bettered Micky's.
He also had a 100 per cent tackle success rate while he was not dribbled past at all during the clash.
