Team news from Luton | Barkley back, and a familiar face training with the Hatters

Fri 06 October 2023, 14:25|Tottenham Hotspur

England midfielder Ross Barkley is back in the frame for Luton ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash at Kenilworth Road.

The former Chelsea and Everton playmaker has been out since the start of September with a hamstring issue. “He’s fit, he’s been training, he’s part of the squad and it’s good to have him back on the grass,” said Luton boss Rob Edwards, who revealed on Friday that a familiar face is training with his squad at the moment - Andros Townsend.

“We’re having a look at him, and he’s having a look at us,” explained Edwards. “He’s had a fantastic career, he’s hungry, but (a deal) has to be right for both parties.”

Edwards also told the media at his pre-match press conference that Amari’i Bell will miss out after departing early from Luton's 2-1 loss against Burnley on Tuesday night with a hamstring injury.
