Heung-Min Son was named our supporters' HSBC Player of the Match after our 2-1 Premier League win over Liverpool on Saturday.
Picking up his third Player of the Match award of the season and his second in consecutive games after his brace at the Emirates last weekend, Sonny claimed 24 per cent of the vote in an exclusive poll on our official app straight after the game in what was one of the closest-fought contests of the season so far.
Scoring the opener against the Reds in the 36th minute, Sonny made it three goals in his last two appearances and six for the season in total, moving him to outright second in the Premier League goalscoring chart for the campaign. Our match-winner, Pedro Porro, who delivered the teasing cross which Joel Matip diverted into his own net in the sixth minute of injury time, came a close second in the poll, securing 20 per cent of the vote while Micky van de Ven came third, collecting 13 per cent of the votes.
Sonny's goal was also saw him reach the milestone of 200 senior club goals while it was his 109th of his Premier League career.
The Player of the Match award was his third of the new season - our skipper has picked up more such awards than any other player this term.
