Pedro Porro is enjoying the family atmosphere building under Ange Postecoglou this season and hopes that it will carry the team to another three points when we take on Fulham on Monday night.
There is a togetherness that has galvanised the squad to an unbeaten start to the Premier League season after eight games, winning six and drawing two to leave us top of the table going into this weekend’s round of matches.
Our 20 points amassed is our best start at this stage in the modern era and, in fact, not since our Double-winning success in 1960/61 have we made a better start to a league campaign.
As well as the quality of results, we have achieved this success by playing entertaining, attacking football that has connected players and supporters alike. The squad have been receptive to Ange’s ideas and philosophy and the unity amongst the players has helped create a familial feel within the group.
“We have a really strong group that has a big family feel to it... we're happy since he arrived, we're all together as a group and I think you can see that when we're on the pitch
Speaking in the matchday programme for our clash with Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening, our Spanish full-back said: “We have a really strong group that has a big family feel to it. It’s quite obvious since Ange arrived that there's been a unified effort towards the work that he asks of us.
“The work that we're putting in is giving us the results we deserve and we're happy since he arrived, we're all together as a group and I think you can see that when we're on the pitch.
“I'm very happy with the start of the season because when you work hard and you're enjoying it everything should, in theory, go well. Up until now it’s all been like that thankfully, so I’m really happy.”
