Palace 1-2 Spurs | Vic: “Our second goal was a masterclass”

Guglielmo Vicario had the best view of our second goal against Crystal Palace on Friday evening – after all, he started it!
The Italy international - so impressive at the start of his Spurs career - began the move that swept the length of Selhurst Park - eight passes, 13 touches and 18 seconds from Vic to Heung-Min Son converting to put us 2-0 up in a testing Premier League clash in SE25.
We have to keep going and keep improving. We enjoyed the win, now we work and go again
That proved enough despite a late rally from the home side as we stretched our unbeaten start to 10 matches, eight wins and two draws, to move five points clear at the top of the table on Friday night. That’s now back to two points after Arsenal City won over the weekend.
Speaking to our Review Show at Selhurst Park, Vic said: “Our second goal was masterclass football, playing out from the back, trying to find a spare man, and then Sonny attacks the space and it’s easy for him to score the goal. It’s a situation we work on during the week, so we’re happy with that. We have to keep going and keep improving. We enjoyed the win, now we work and go again.”
Vic was forced into two fine saves in a stalemate first half – a parry to his right to deny Jordan Ayew and, even better, a reaction stop down his left to turn away Odsonne Eduard’s snapshot from the edge of the box – Vic’s save percentage of 82.9% is currently best in the Premier League.
He added: “The first period of the match, we just needed to settle into the game. After that, I thought we controlled it, we played a big second half, played our football, stayed calm on the ball and scored two big goals.”
