Opposition view | Rob Edwards: "Let’s have a really good go at it"

Fri 06 October 2023, 18:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Rob Edwards sees our visit to Kenilworth Road as 'a notch up' for his Luton side - but that won't stop the Hatters going after us on Saturday.

It's our first competitive visit to Luton since March, 1992 and our first Premier League clash against last season's Championship play-off winners is the early kick-off, live on TNT Sports (12.30pm).

Defeated in their first four matches on their return to the top flight, Luton picked up their first point against Wolves and then beat Everton at Goodison on Saturday. They looked to have rescued a point in midweek against Burnley only for Jacob Bruun Larsen to ping a winner into the top corner just seconds after Elijah Adebayo's late equaliser.

We go into the game looking to build on our unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign under Ange Postecoglou.

“West Ham, Wolves and Burnley have been great games which we should have won more points from," said Edwards, who led Luton back into the top flight last season. "The performances have been good, but Saturday’s a notch up.

“Tottenham are a fantastic team and a massive club. It’s an exciting game for us. I’ll be interesting to see how the stadium is at 12.30 and hopefully everyone can bring the noise.

“Ange is top, he’s excellent. They have world-class players, household names, and have adapted really well since losing their talisman, Harry Kane. They’re aggressive, fast, very good with the ball; they build and control the ball and have outstanding individuals.

“It’s going to be a really difficult test for us. Ange has done a great job so far but everyone has to lose at some stage, so let’s have a really good go at it.”
