Match-winner Micky claims maiden Player of the Match award

Micky van de Ven was named our supporters' HSBC Player of the Match after he produced the match-winning goal as we defeated Luton Town 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Claiming his first Player of the Match award of the season, Micky claimed a whopping 66 per cent of the vote in an exclusive poll on our official app straight after the game.
Building on his burgeoning partnership with Cristian Romero at the heart of our defence, the Dutchman and Cuti both put in stellar performances at the back as we picked up out third clean sheet of the season.
Against a Luton side eager to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Burnley, our challenge at Kenilworth Road was made all the harder when we were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half-time with the influential Yves Bissouma dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Yet, remaining resilient against the home side's attacks and their buoyant crowd, it was us who edged the contest as Micky came up with the goods, not just at the back, but also up top, as he guided James Maddison's cut back home on 52 minutes - a goal which was ultimately enough to seal all three points.
