Emerson Royal has been called up to Brazil's squad for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.
Capped eight times, the 24-year-old returns to the national team for the first time since March in place of Juventus' Danilo who picked up an injury in their most recent 1-1 draw with Venezuela in the early hours of Friday morning (13 October).
Emerson will join up with Club teammate Richarlison and the rest of Fernando Diniz's Brazil squad ahead of their next World Cup qualifier against a Uruguay side led by Marcelo Bielsa on Wednesday 18 October (1am kick-off) at the Centenário Stadium in the Uruguayan capital.
With two wins and a draw, the Seleção currently sit second in the South America standings but trail leaders Argentina who have maximum points after three games.
