Spurs vs Aston Villa | How to watch, team news, kit colours, key information

Sat 25 November 2023, 22:24|Tottenham Hotspur

Men’s international football is over for 2023 and we’re now into a solid few months of domestic action, beginning at home to Aston Villa on Sunday (kick-off 2pm UK).

We’re currently fourth and could move up to third with victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but a win for the visitors – currently one point and one place behind – would see them leapfrog us into the top four.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of the match...

How can I watch the game?

Sunday’s match will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event, kick-off 2pm.

Overseas broadcast listings can be found on our Spurs on TV page here.

Don’t forget, you can also follow the game live and in-depth via our Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app, where we’ll have full live radio and text commentary available as usual, complemented by images, live in-game stats and more.

In the immediate run-up to the game, you’ll be able to watch The Warm-Up, our pre-match show emanating from inside the stadium, to get closer to all the action. The show will be on air from 1.15pm UK time on SPURSPLAY and our official YouTube channel, with The Review Show available from two hours after the full-time whistle on SPURSPLAY.

Video highlights will also be available on SPURSPLAY from two hours after the final whistle, with a full match replay available from midnight after the game on the same platform.

What is the team news?

Young defender Ashley Phillips has joined our list of absentees while midfielder Pape Matar Sarr will need to be assessed after both pick up knocks on international duty over the last fortnight.

Yves Bissouma will also miss out after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season at Wolves last time out.

He joins Cristian Romero in sitting the game out through suspension – this will be the second of Cuti’s three-game ban following his red card against Chelsea – while Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Richarlison, Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Alfie Whiteman are all still injured.

Destiny Udogie is eligible to feature after serving a one-match ban at Molineux.

As for visitors Villa, Emiliano Martinez and John McGinn are expected to be available after incurring small problems on international duty, while Jacob Ramsey is back following a broken metatarsal.

Leon Bailey and Nicolo Zaniolo are also expected to be fit.

Who is the referee?

Rob Jones will referee the match on Sunday, assisted by Tim Wood and Wade Smith.

The fourth official will be Tim Robinson.

VAR duties will be handled by Jarred Gillett, along with assistant James Mainwaring.

What colours will the teams be playing in?

We’ll be in our 2023/24 all-Lilywhite home strip as usual, with our goalkeeper in light blue.

Villa will be using their traditional claret and blue shirts but will change to all claret shorts and socks on Sunday.

Their keeper will wear an all-black strip with bright green trim.

What will the weather conditions be like?

It’s forecast to be cloudy and windy with light rain during the afternoon in north London on Sunday. Temperatures should be at around six degrees.
