Sonny picked for Korea

Heung-Min Son has been selected for Korea Republic duty as they begin their World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign.

This month, the second of an eventual five rounds of qualifying for the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada kicks off in Asia and Korea will face their first two of six matches in qualification group C.

Drawn into the group alongside China, Singapore and Thailand, they will begin their campaign on Thursday 16 November as they host Singapore in Seoul (kick-off 11am UK). They will then travel to Shenzhen on Tuesday 21 November to take on China (kick-off 12noon UK).

Sonny, captain of his nation, currently has 114 international caps to his name, scoring 38 goals.
