Wolves are up next in the Premier League as we travel to Molineux for an early kick-off (12.30pm) on Saturday. Here's a closer look at Gary O'Neil's team...

Form

After a tricky start, where they lost four of their first five matches in the Premier League, Wolves recovered well with a run of five unbeaten only for that run to end in controversial circumstances with a 2-1 loss last weekend at Sheffield United. That unbeaten run included, most notably, a 2-1 win against Manchester City and draws against Villa and Newcastle. However, they were undone by a late penalty award at Bramall Lane, slotted home by Oliver Norwood in the 10th minute of added time.

Players to watch

Capped 10 times by Brazil, formerly with Sion, RB Leipzig, Hertha Berlin and Atletico Madrid, forward Matheus Cunha has impressed this season with his ability to carry the ball, gliding through challenges. Austria striker Sasa Kalajdzic looks a handful, he scored 24 goals in 60 appearances for VfB Stuttgart before arriving at Wolves. Another forward, South Korea's Hee-chan Hwang, is flying this season, seven goals in 12 ahead of this weekend, but Wolves have lost the services of in-form Pedro Neto due a hamstring injury. Of course, there's a familiar face at the back in Matt Doherty, back at Wolves after spells here at Spurs and Atletico Madrid.

Manager - Gary O'Neil

A midfielder who enjoyed a 19-year career playing for the likes of Portsmouth (2000-2007), Middlesbrough (2007-2011) and West Ham (2011-2013), O'Neil almost made it to 550 career appearances, winning Player of the Season at his last club, Bolton, in 2018/19. He moved into coaching and was part of Scott Parker's team that helped AFC Bournemouth to promotion in 2021/22. Parker departed in August, 2022 with O'Neil initially taking over as caretaker, then permanent Head Coach in November. Bottom of the table in March, a run of six wins in nine saw the Cherries move up to 13th, before finishing 15th. Bournemouth then brought in Andoni Iraola from Rayo Vallecano but O'Neil didn't have to wait long - he was appointed Head Coach at Molineux in August.

Last time we met

A tale of two halves at Molineux in March. We were the better team in the first half and struck the woodwork either side of half-time - Pedro Porro hit the crossbar just before the break, Heung-Min Son repeated the trick just after. However, momentum started to change and Wolves went close through Nelson Semedo, Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves before Adama Traore hammered home off the underside of the bar eight minutes from time. Despite racking up 21 efforts to Wolves' eight, that's how it stayed.
