Jamie Donley has won the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for October.
The- 18-year-old forward was in flying form for our Under-21s last month, starting with a decisive brace – including an innovative long-range finish – as he helped Wayne Burnett’s side recover from 2-1 down to eventually win 4-2 at home to Chelsea.
Assists then followed in a 4-2 league win at Sunderland and a 3-1 EFL Trophy defeat to Peterborough United’s senior side.
Indeed, Jamie has either scored or assisted in each one of his 12 appearances in all competitions for our Under-21s so far this season.
Also shortlisted for the award in August, Jamie saw off competition from Club team-mate Yago Santiago as well as Wolves’ Tawanda Chirewa, Lewis Koumas and Mateusz Musialowski of Liverpool, West Ham’s Callum Marshall, Ademola Ola-Adebomi of Crystal Palace and Reading’s Charlie Wellens to take the honour.
Congratulations, Jamie!
