The 81 Book nominated for prestigious award

We are delighted to announce that our official coffee table book, 81: The Year That Changed Our Lives – the story of our famous 1981 cup triumph told by Spurs legend Steve Perryman with Julie Welch – has been nominated for a prestigious award.

The publication, a beautifully designed hardback book packed with amazing pictures and original memorabilia and produced by the award-winning team that created  61, The Lane, Destination Tottenham and The Spurs Shirt, has been nominated in the Best Illustrated Book category at The Sunday Times Sports Book Awards.

“I am delighted that 81 has been nominated for this award,” said Steve Perryman. “We really wanted to create a beautiful book that does justice to the importance of the 1981 FA Cup run – and our victory on that glorious night at Wembley – in the history of Tottenham Hotspur FC.

“Echoing the teamwork and togetherness of that ’81 team, this book was a real collaboration and it was great to work with the brilliant Julie Welch and all the guys at Vision Sports Publishing. Hopefully we can look forward to another glorious night when the winner is announced next month. Come on you Spurs!”

The winner will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner at The Oval on Wednesday, 24 May.
