Lucas Moura cemented his place in Club history with his hat-trick against Ajax to take us into the UEFA Champions League Final in 2019. But it’s not all about that night in Amsterdam...
Speaking to us on our matchday show N17 Live after an emotional final home game against Brentford on Saturday, the popular Brazilian, who will leave us after five years at the end of the season, was asked about his favourite moments in a Spurs shirt.
With 220 appearances and 38 goals in all competitions since his arrival from PSG in January, 2018, there have been plenty. Here’s what he had to say...

Lucas Moura
“There were so many great moments. Of course, the hat-trick against Ajax was my best game... the best game in my career. But there is also the game against Manchester United away, my first goal in the Premier League against Fulham, my goal against Norwich, my goal against Wolves, my first goal against Rochdale away. Barcelona away as well. The goal against City away with my first touch. I had so many great moments here and I will keep all of them in my heart.”
Rewind - Lucas' best bits from August, 2018
Moura’s moments...
18.02.2018 v Rochdale - Lucas made his debut off the bench in our 2-2 draw at Juventus in the Champions League on 13 February. Five days later, he swapped Allianz Stadium for Rochdale’s Deepdale and opened his Spurs’ account as we drew 2-2 again, this time in the FA Cup.
18.08.2018 v Fulham - Lucas kicked-off what would be a season to remember with his first Premier League goal, a wonderful strike into the top corner in a 3-1 win against Fulham at Wembley.
27.08.2018 v Manchester United - Lucas truly arrived this night at Old Trafford, as two goals in the second half secured a 3-0 win against United. The Brazilian’s displays earned the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for August.
Highlights - Barcelona 1-1 Spurs
11.12.2018 v Barcelona - Before Ajax and the Champions League Final, we needed a result against Barca at the Nou Camp to progress into the knockout stage. Trailing 1-0 with five minutes remaining, Lucas delivered, converting Harry Kane’s cross for the point we needed to go through, as Inter were held by PSV.
13.04.2019 v Huddersfield - Just 10 days after the opening of our new stadium, Lucas added his own slice of Club history by becoming the first player to score a hat-trick in our world-class arena as we beat Huddersfield 4-0, the afternoon topped off by the sight of Lucas playing on the pitch with his young son as the fans cheered their every move.
08.05.2019 v Ajax - The night of all nights hardly needs explaining, but... trailing 1-0 from the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, we fell 2-0 down on the night and 3-0 on aggregate before Lucas’ second half hat-trick, goals on 55, 59 and in the sixth minute of added time, took us to the final in Madrid. A night never to be forgotten. Scenes!
March to Madrid - Lucas Moura
17.08.2019 v Manchester City - It took just 19 seconds for Lucas to make his mark in a 2-2 draw at the Etihad. Off the bench for Harry Winks on 55 minutes, Lucas ran straight into City’s box for a corner and rose brilliant to glance home Erik Lamela’s inswinger with his first touch.
15.12.2019 v Wolves - One of Lucas’ best goals in a Spurs shirt, he charged into the box from the right side, held off three challenges and then blasted a shot into the top corner. Jan Vertonghen later secured a late, late 2-1 win in the rain at Molineux.
05.12.2021 v Norwich City - One of Lucas’ final goals for us was one of his finest, a stunning solo effort against the Canaries. Picking up the ball from Davinson Sanchez 30 yards from goal, Lucas spun away from Ben Gibson, nutmegged Billy Gilmour and played a sharp one-two with Heung-Min Son. He then chopped back, away from Andrew Omobamidele and back onto his right foot before blasting home from 30 yards.
