We're back in Women's Super League action as we face Manchester City at The Academy Stadium for a 2pm kick-off on Sunday.

We'll be looking to show a response to last weekend's Vitality Women's FA Cup exit, as we were knocked out of the competition in the fifth round by Reading on penalties.

Man City secured an emphatic 8-1 win away to Bristol City in the FA Cup last weekend, Spurs loanee Gracie Pearse scoring the only goal for the home side.

Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw, who scored four goals in that game, now has 21 goals in 20 matches for the 2022/23 season.

Now third in the WSL following their previous league game - a 2-1 win at home to Arsenal in February - City are unbeaten in the division since September, when they lost 2-0 to Chelsea after opening day defeat away to Aston Villa.

Gareth Taylor's side are now two points behind Chelsea and three shy of leaders Manchester United.

Last time we met was in October, City emerging from Brisbane Road with a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Shaw and Lauren Hemp.

Rehanne's thoughts

"Every game is a tough one. We're continuing to focus on our performances. Results have eluded us of late so we need to try to get that on track. It's not going to be easy, but there's a lot of belief in the team that we'll get results sooner rather than later. We're going to give it everything we possibly can to really make life difficult for Manchester City and get points out of the game."

Match officials

Abigail Byrne has been appointed to take charge of Sunday’s game, Georgia Ball and Phoebe Cross her assistants and Callum Parke the fourth official.

Memorable match

City away brings back memories of our 2-1 win at The Academy Stadium in 2021. Hemp gave the hosts the lead inside six minutes, but Rachel Williams pulled one back with just under half an hour remaining.

We then forced a Karima Benameur own goal late on to take all three points.
