It was an historic night for Ivan Perisic on Tuesday as he picked up his 125th cap for the Croatia national team.
Coming in their 2-0 Euro 2024 qualifier win over Turkey as they bounced back from a frustrating 1-1 draw with Wales in their campaign opener on Saturday, Ivan started the victory at the Bursa Metropolitan Stadium in Timsah, playing the full 90 minutes before being substituted in added time.
Earning his first cap for his country 12 years and three days ago to the date as he came off the bench for his nation in a 1-0 Euro 2012 qualifying defeat to Georgia aged 22, the left-sided attacking threat has enjoyed quite the career on the international stage.
Scoring 33 goals to date in the famous red and white checkered shirts, Ivan helped his nation return to the World Cup finals in 2014 after they had failed to qualify in 2010. He was then a key part of both of the Croatia squads at the 2018 tournament - where they enjoyed their best-ever finish as they were runners-up in the Russia final - and the 2022 edition as they took third place in Qatar.
With 125 caps to his name, he sits third in the list of Croatia's all-time appearance makers, nine matches behind Darijo Srna in second (134) but is some way adrift of current captain and former Spur Luka Modric, who holds 164 caps.
