Local young people were treated to something extra special today when Hugo Lloris paid them a visit at a Premier League Kicks session.
Taking place at New River Sports & Fitness Centre in Haringey, Hugo, who has made 433 appearances for the Club, joined 15 budding footballers from across north London for a session focussed on goalkeeping exercises and drills.
Our Club captain Hugo was also on hand to pass on advice and words of encouragement to the aspiring young players from the sidelines.
Kicks, which was originally piloted by the Club in 2006, has helped thousands of young people across the country to reach their potential through free weekly football sessions and educational workshops. Tottenham Hotspur Foundation itself has hosted over 6,500 Kicks sessions, engaging with a total of 10,000 participants.
The main aim of the programme is to involve and support young adults in regular fun and positive activity, whilst helping to create stronger, safer and more inclusive communities.
Speaking at the session, Hugo said: “Premier League Kicks is all about bringing people together and today’s session is a perfect example of that. The Club offers great opportunities for young players to come down and take part in free football sessions on a weekly basis, helping to build their confidence. These opportunities are so important for people in the community and you can see how much everyone enjoyed themselves.”
