First professional contract for Abbott

We are delighted to announce that George Abbott has signed his first professional contract with the Club.

Having initially joined us as a seven-year-old, George progressed through the age groups before establishing himself as a regular member of the starting line-up in our Under-18 side mid-way through last season.

The 17-year-old has continued to make progress this term, showing his versatility by operating in both full-back positions as well as his more recognised defensive midfield role.

In addition to featuring regularly for the Under-18s this season, George has stepped up to make six appearances for the Under-21s, as well as starting five of our six games in the Under-19 UEFA Youth League.
