Cristian Stellini confirmed Ryan Sessegnon is likely to be out for ‘a few weeks’ as he prepares the squad to face West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday (4.30pm).
The wing-back suffered a hamstring injury recently in training and missed our trips to Leicester City and AC Milan last week.
Antonio Conte’s assistant Cristian, back on media duties with Antonio continuing his recovery from surgery back in Italy, spoke to SPURSPLAY after training on Friday, and told us: “Ryan, at the moment, is injured, and not available. He needs some weeks to recover well, It’s a muscle injury, so he needs to rest and work to come back.”
‘Sess’ is sidelined alongside Hugo Lloris (knee), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee) and Yves Bissouma (ankle). Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is available for selection after being suspended for our UEFA Champions League Round of 16, first leg against Milan on Tuesday evening.

With the midfield trio of Pierre, Rodrigo and Yves all missing, opportunity knocked for youngsters Oliver Skipp and Pape Sarr against Milan, an opportunity they grabbed with both hands on the biggest stage at the San Siro.
Asked in his press conference who might make way for Pierre’s expected return to the team, Cristian replied: “We will take this decision thinking about the game. The details in the game will be so important, so the decision we take will be about the game and the characteristics of our opponent, and what we need from our players, and the type of game we expect to play.”
Meanwhile, Cristian gave us an update on Antonio. “Antonio is feeling better than the last time we spoke about him, after the surgery. He is much better, but not well enough to stay here with us, because the surgery was an emergency surgery, so he needs to stay (in Italy) and rest. But he’s fine, involved, we speak every day. He’s… Antonio!”
