Sheffield United v Spurs – how to watch, team news, kit colours, key information
Wed 01 March 2023, 10:18|Tottenham Hotspur
We resume our FA Cup campaign this evening (Wednesday 1 March, kick-off 7.55pm UK) with a trip to Sheffield United.
Having seen off Portsmouth and Preston North End to reach this stage of the competition, we go to Bramall Lane eager to secure a spot in the last eight.
The Blades are currently second in the Championship but needed a replay to finally see off Wrexham in the fourth round a few weeks ago.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game...
How can I watch the game?
Tonight’s match will be televised live in the UK on BBC One, with commentary also available on BBC Radio 5 Live. Kick-off is at 7.55pm.
For supporters following us from outside the UK, worldwide broadcast listings are available here.
Remember, you can also follow all the action via our Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app, regardless of where you are around the globe.
There, you’ll find minute-by-minute text and audio commentary live from Bramall Lane along with goal alerts, stats and much more, meaning you won’t miss any of the action from this important tie.
What is the team news?
Assistant Head Coach Cristian Stellini said there were no new injury concerns coming out of Sunday’s Premier League victory over Chelsea.
However, nobody from the injured quartet of Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Yves Bissouma (ankle), Hugo Lloris (knee) and Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) is yet ready to return.
Cristian suggested we will see some changes to our starting XI with three games taking place this week.
There are also some question marks over the Sheffield United squad after manager Paul Heckingbottom revealed that illness has swept through their ranks of late.
Newcastle United loanee Ciaran Clark is one player thought to have been affected, with Heckingbottom set to leave it late before selecting his starting XI.
What colours will the teams be playing in?
Hosts Sheffield United will wear their usual red and white striped shirts with black shorts and black socks.
That means we’ll be wearing our away kit, which features dark blue shirts with black sleeves and volt green detailing, black shorts and volt green socks.
The Blades’ goalkeeper will play in green with ours in yellow.
Who is the referee?
John Brooks will referee this evening’s tie.
He’ll be assisted by Neil Davies and Matthew Wilkes, with Jarred Gillett as the fourth official.
What will the weather conditions be like?
The forecast in Sheffield is for light rain showers and a gentle breeze, with temperatures at around five degrees.
