After Sunday’s memorable 2-0 derby day win over Chelsea, we were spoilt for choice for this edition of Moments you may have missed.

It was a momentous afternoon which saw two of our own, Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane, earn us a well-deserved victory with the former having a game to remember after opening his account in Lilywhite with a sumptuous strike seconds after half-time.

As we reminisce on beating the Blues, here are a few things you might not have seen on the day.

1 – Skippy’s stunner

Yes, you will have definitely have of seen it by now but, if you were at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for this game, maybe you might have missed this goal as, just 20 seconds after the restart, Oliver Skipp rippled the net.

This game will live long in Oliver's memory for many reasons but none more so than finding the target, which was his first senior goal the Club, his club - and what a goal! Within seconds of the restart, with the game locked at 0-0, up step Skippy who unleashed a 20-yard piledriver past Blues’ goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. You’ve probably been watching this finish on repeat but, given the timing of the goal, we’ve chosen to include it seeing as with many fans still enjoying their half-time refreshments in the concourse, many quite possibly missed the moment in the flesh.

2 – Kane’s nutmeg

Harry Kane was at his brilliant best on Sunday. Not only did he bag our second goal - taking his total tally to 20 for a ninth consecutive season - but he also provided some moments of magic like his nutmeg on Reece James 13 minutes in.

It all started with Dejan Kulusevski showing excellent skill and composure under pressure to evade two Chelsea players on the right touchline in our half and lay the ball to Harry in the centre circle. With Thiago Silva hot on his heels, Harry shimmied past the experienced defender and set Ben Davies through in space down the left. Ben played it back inside to ‘Deki’ who laid a pass to our number 10 on the left corner of the Chelsea box. What followed was pure poetry: Harry - faced by three Chelsea defenders - sold Silva again with a dummy and poked the ball through James’ legs before a last-ditch tackle from a recovering Silva denied the forward an attempt at a goal-of-the-season contender.

3 - A ‘Royal’ recovery

Emerson Royal put in another standout performance at right wing-back and is brimming with confidence at the moment. He dealt with everything that Chelsea threw at him which included a superb recovery challenge on Ben Chilwell to deny his opposite full-back a clear run in our box.

Midway through the first half, Skippy slid in to dispossess Raheem Sterling, but his tackle fell perfectly to Chilwell who burst past Emerson down the right-hand side and surged into the penalty area. However, Emerson displayed his defensive tenacity to sprint back and deliver a well-timed sliding tackle to send the ball out for a corner to a rapturous reaction from our home fans.

4 - Fearless Forster

Our impressive rear-guard action on Sunday made it back-to-back clean sheets and both with Fraser Forster deputising for our injured club captain Hugo Lloris. Our defensive solidity limited Chelsea’s chances but, when they did break through, Fraser was on hand to keep the Blues at bay.

In the 67th minute, with the score at 1-0, Fraser showed incredible bravery to throw his 6ft 6in frame down at Kai Havertz’s feet to claim the ball as the Chelsea forward tried to pounce on a Joao Felix through ball with just our keeper to beat.

5 - Romero vs Havertz

We’ve become accustomed to Cristian Romero’s passionate approach to defending and ‘Cuti’ delivered a defensive masterclass on the right of our back three to give Havertz a torrid afternoon. The Argentina international barely gave the Blues forward a sniff and showed his whole array of qualities as the pair battled throughout. Firstly, the duel was ignited on 21 minutes when Cristian, under pressure from Havertz, nutmegged the onrushing German as he passed to Emerson directly in front of the South Stand.

Then, with just over 15 minutes remaining, Cristian saved the best until last when Havertz tried to rob the ball from his loose touch but he put in a typical ‘Cuti’ slide challenge to win the ball cleanly from the Germany international.

6 - Passionate Richarlison

Richarlison wears his heart on his sleeve and put in a brilliant shift in our front three. The Brazilian was desperate to help us see out the game and pulled his shirt over his face when the fourth official held up his number to be replaced by home debutant Pedro Porro in the 89th minute. As our number nine exited the pitch to a standing ovation, both his fellow countryman Emerson and captain Harry consoled the Brazilian and showed their appreciation for his lung-bursting efforts.

7 - Skipp in his step

As we wax lyrical about Skippy’s wonder strike, he also won your Player of the Match vote to cap off a truly special day for the 22-year-old. His goal will take the headlines, but Skippy delivered a complete midfield performance with his composure on the ball and work-rate out of possession. The latter was typified when, deep into second half stoppage time, Skippy covered good ground to put in an expert sliding challenge on Mykhailo Mudryk - near halfway on the right-hand touchline – to stop the Chelsea attack from developing. Nothing says passion like a full-blooded tackle so late on in the game.
