Kerys Harrop looks ahead to 'very exciting' FA Cup fifth round

Wed 22 February 2023, 15:10|Tottenham Hotspur

Kerys Harrop has said that we have a great chance to reach the quarter-finals of the Vitality Women's FA Cup for just the third time in our history on Sunday.

Tickets for the match against Reading at Brisbane Road, which kicks off at 2pm, are available here.

"It's very exciting," she said to us earlier this week. "I think it will be a good game. We’ll have a good contest against Reading. We take each game as it comes, but it’s a great opportunity to get into the quarter-finals.

"Hopefully we can progress into the next round, but it won’t be easy because it’s always a tough game against Reading. We lost to them in the last game we played against them, so we need to put the wrongs right with a good performance on Sunday."

We reached the fifth round of the competition courtesy of an emphatic 5-0 win at home to London City Lionesses at the end of the January, while Reading beat Leicester City on penalties.

11 of our squad members have been away with their countries across the international break, but it's been a good week and a half for those who've remained at Hotspur Way, Kerys said.

"It’s been a bit quiet with a lot of the girls away on international duty," she explained. "There were only about eight of us left, but it’s been quite a nice time actually because you can do a bit more individual work and some of the sessions are a bit more fun, rather than tactical based ones.

"It’s been good and nice to get a lot of touches of the ball. We’re looking forward to the game on Sunday. It’s always a good battle against Reading, isn’t it?"
