FA Cup preview: Spurs Women v Reading

Fri 24 February 2023, 12:30|Tottenham Hotspur

We’re back at Brisbane Road as we host Reading in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup at 2pm on Sunday.

Reading’s season so far

The Royals are 11th in the Barclays Women’s Super League with seven points from 13 matches.

Since beating us 1-0 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in December, Kelly Chambers’ side have lost four league games against Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United and Liverpool.

They got their first win of the season against Leicester City at the end of October, and held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw in November.

In the FA Cup fourth round, Reading beat Leicester again, winning 3-2 on penalties having drawn 2-2 after extra time.

Rehanne’s thoughts

"We've been playing well and we want to keep carrying that on. We're confident that when we play well, we'll start to get results. A cup competition is a great way to do that further. We want to make sure that we keep building the momentum and the quality of our performances. We've been unfortunate not to get points.

"This weekend, it's something a little bit fresh, it's good to change your mind towards something else at times. That just gives us another impetus to get another good performance under our belts."

Match officials

Amy Fearn has been appointed to take charge of Sunday’s game, Megan Wilson and Laura Van Lier her assistants and Isabel Chaplin the fourth official.
