Tottenham Hotspur has partnered with Fanblock - the digital gaming platform - to offer a unique opportunity for its global fanbase to interact with the Club’s matches like never before.
Fans can now own virtual blocks of Spurs’ digital football pitch and earn points through the real-life action that occurs in the corresponding areas during live matches.
Points earned through moments such as passes, headers, free kicks, corner kicks, tackles, goals and assists then give fans the opportunity to win prizes such as VIP premium tickets, private stadium tours, signed jerseys, pennants and balls, pitchside visits and much more.
Fanblocks are stored on the Polygon blockchain and are active for the season - after which, they will belong to fans as digital collectibles. They are released in limited editions depending on their rarity and position on the field and can be purchased in packs of four or ten using any major debit or credit card.
Tottenham Hotspur is the first English Premier League team to embrace the revolutionary Fanblock technology - which will go live for the first time for Sunday’s home Premier League clash against Newcastle United.
“We are proud to enter the English Premier League with Spurs, a club with such a rich history. Fanblock is all about the fans of the future and with the incredible Tottenham Hotspur Stadium we are building a rewarding new way for fans to enjoy the beautiful game and support the Spurs” Fanblock Founder and CEO Johan Greeff said.
Ryan Norys, Commercial Sales Director, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “Our partnership with Fanblock is another example of how we are embracing the latest technology to create new forms of fan engagement and opportunities for supporters to get closer to the Club no matter where they are in the world.”
