Rio wins November Goal of the Month award

Rio Kyerematen's rocket from range against Peterborough United Under-21s has won our Goal of the Month award for November, 2023.

As voted by you, the fans, Rio's stunning strike in our 2-0 away win in the Premier League Cup has come top of our poll.

After Will Lankshear had bagged the opener on 24 minutes at Stamford AFC's new Zeeco Stadium, the 18-year-old capped a standout midfield display by unleashing a 30-yard drive into the top corner in the 33rd minute to round off the 2-0 scoreline as we continued our 100 per cent record in the cup competition.

His strike against the Posh fended off tough competition from Giovani Lo Celso's first of the season (vs Aston Villa) and Celin Bizet's solo goal (vs Liverpool).
