We were delighted to continue our Christmas tradition of players visiting local hospitals on Tuesday afternoon, spreading festive cheer and delivering presents on behalf of the Club.

This time around, 14 players paid visits to children's wards at five local hospitals.

Brandon Austin, Alfie Dorrington and Ryan Sessegnon made the short trip to North Middlesex Hospital in Edmonton, while Gio Lo Celso, Hugo Lloris and Cuti Romero visited Whittington Hospital in Upper Holloway.

Bryan Gil, Pedro Porro and Alejo Veliz went to Whipps Cross in Leytonstone, Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips visited Princess Alexandra in Harlow while Richarlison, Emerson Royal and Oliver Skipp handed out gifts at Barnet Hospital.

Players also delivered special gifts from Official Club partners Cadbury and Molton Brown to all hospital staff.

It was a new experience for Micky van de Ven, previously with Volendam in Holland and VfL Wolfsburg in Germany, and he told us: "This is the first time I’ve done something like this and it’s really nice to see the smiles on the faces of the kids, it’s special. It’s a gift to be healthy, you have to enjoy life every day and when you see these kids in hospital at this time of year, you really appreciate that. The families are going through a tough time, if you see them smiling... it's good to do this."

Ashley Phillips, who was with Micky in Harlow, added: "Christmas is a time of love, so being in hospital at this time of year must be tough. To be able to put smiles on kids’ faces is really good. There were plenty of Spurs fans here as well, it was great to meet them all!"
