Manchester City's Etihad Stadium awaits for a fascinating clash between Ange Postecoglou and Pep Guardiola in the Premier League on Sunday (4.30pm UK). Here's a closer look at City...

Form

City are unbeaten since rare back-to-back defeats in the Premier League against Wolves and Arsenal at the end of September/start of October. They've had a couple of draws in there against Chelsea and Liverpool, but come into the weekend off the back of a comeback win against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday night (2-0 down, 3-2 win) and sitting second in the Premier League, a point adrift of leaders Arsenal, with nine wins in 13. Last season's treble winners are also currently top scorers in the league (33) and have a formidable home record since Pep Guardiola's arrival in 2016 - they've lost 12 of 139 home games in the Premier League since the start of 2016/17.

Players to watch

Erling Haaland is the obvious one to watch, and his goalscoring record at City is nothing short of staggering - 71 goals in 73 games in all competitions, including 50 in 48 in the Premier League. He has 14 in 13 in the league so far this term. Jeremy Doku, a summer arrival from Rennes, has added lightning pace to City's armoury, but it's the guile of Bernardo Silva in the forward areas that often makes a difference. The influence of Rodrigo in the central areas, both extinguishing opponents' attacks and weighing in with important goals (three in 11 in the Premier League in 2023/24), can't be underestimated and then you've the arrival of Rico Lewis, who we saw in the inverted full-back role in our 4-2 loss at City in January, and now has a first full England cap under his belt, at the age of 19. At the other end of the scale, former Spur Kyle Walker, 229 appearances here between 2010-2017, now 33, shows no signs of letting up - he featured 39 times in all competitions as City won the treble last season, has played 19 times this season and is now up to 81 England caps, having won his first as a Spur back in 2011.

Manager - Pep Guardiola

One of the most influential figures in modern football, Guardiola came through Barcelona's La Masia Academy system from the age of 13, made his debut in 1990 and remained in the side for the next 11 years, winning six La Liga titles, the European Cup (against Sampdoria at Wembley in 1992) and Olympic gold with Spain (also in 1992). He later played in Italy, Qatar and Mexico and won 47 caps for Spain. His coaching journey also started at the Nou Camp, first with Barcelona B, then onto the first team in 2008. He led the Catalan giants to 13 major trophies including three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues before a switch to Bayern Munich in 2012, where he also won a hat-trick of titles in the Bundesliga. He joined City in 2016 and has taken 13 major trophies to the blue half of Manchester, including five Premier League titles and the big one, City's first Champions League success as part of the treble last season.

Last time we met

Another incredible encounter between the teams at the Etihad in January this year. We stunned the home fans with a quick one-two at the end of the first half as goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Emerson Royal saw us 2-0 up at half-time. City hit back with three goals in 12 minutes (51-63 minutes) to lead 3-2, Ivan Perisic then struck the woodwork before Riyad Mahrez secured the points for the home side with the fourth goal in the 90th minute.
