It's one of those special days on the football calendar - and we've certainly helped spread a little Spurs festive cheer in recent years on Boxing Day.

Indeed, a glance at our recent record on 26 December makes impressive reading - we're unbeaten since 2003, having won 12 and drawn three of the 15 matches we've played on Boxing Day.

It will stay that way, of course, as we're not in action today - our trip to Brighton was moved to Thursday evening (7.30pm) for TV coverage.

Four of our five belters below are part of that run since 2003, and we kick-off our list just a few years before, and a David Ginola-inspired display against Watford in 1999...

Spurs 4-0 Watford - 1999

Tim Sherwood scored twice against his former club on Boxing Day, 1999, but this was all about David Ginola, who scored one of his best goals in a Spurs shirt - and that's saying something - as George Graham's team brought some festive cheer to N17 just days after a 6-1 hammering at Newcastle in the FA Cup.

The French star opened the scoring in spectacular style, driving in from the left on a trademark dribble, leaving defenders in his wake before firing back across Alec Chamberlain from the edge of the box.

Ginola was involved in just about everything and claimed the assist for our third goal, thumped home by the head of Sherwood. Steffen Iversen converted Chris Armstrong's cross between those goals and Sherwood completed the scoring with another header, this time from Stephen Clemence's corner.

Spurs: Walker, Carr, Campbell, Perry, Taricco, Clemence, Nielsen, Sherwood, Ginola (Dominguez), Armstrong, Iversen.

Spurs 5-1 Fulham - 2007

Robbie Keane struck his 100th Premier League goal in this five-star show against Fulham on Boxing Day, 2007.

As always, Keano was in the right place at the right time to tap home from Dimitar Berbatov's flick to make it 3-1, his second of the game. That was Premier League goal number 75 for us, plus 25 for Coventry City and Leeds United.

Tom Huddlestone also struck twice, showing his magnificent technique to drill home twice from outside the box, his second the pick, a full volley from 25 yards low into the corner to make it 4-1 on 71 minutes.

Keane opened the scoring, Huddlestone's first made it 2-0, Clint Dempsey replied on the hour, Keane restored our advantage two minutes later, Huddlestone's second secured the points and Jermain Defoe added the icing on the Christmas cake with a late fifth.

Spurs: Robinson, Chimbonda, Kaboul, King (Taarabt), Lee, Lennon, O'Hara, Huddlestone, Malbranque, Berbatov (Boateng), Keane (Defoe).

Aston Villa 0-4 Spurs - 2012

Gareth Bale led the Boxing Day celebrations with a hat-trick at Villa Park in 2012.

The Welsh star was on fire in 2012/13 - 26 goals in all competitions, 21 in the Premier League - and his deadly finishing was on show as we dominated from the start. Indeed, we forced an incredible 15 corners in the first half, but had to wait until another deadly finisher in our ranks, Jermain Defoe, opened the scoring at the start of the second half via a clever pass from Kyle Naughton.

That opened the floodgates, with us lethal on the break. Bale darted in from halfway, rounded goalkeeper Brad Guzan and slotted for 2-0 before two piercing finishes from close range saw us home 4-0.

Lloris, Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Naughton, Lennon, Dembele (Parker), Sandro, Bale (Townsend), Adebayor (Sigurdsson), Defoe.

Spurs 5-2 Southampton - 2017

Three presents for Harry Kane on one memorable Boxing Day at Wembley in 2017 - three goals, three points, and a Premier League record.

Harry needed one goal to topple Alan Shearer's record of 36 in the Premier League in a calendar year - Shearer achieved the feat for Blackburn in 1995 - and took just 22 minutes, heading home Christian Eriksen's cross from close range. Harry went on to extend his mark to 39 with, incredibly, his eighth hat-trick of the year.

Harry doubled our lead from close range on 39 minutes before a quickfire one-two from Dele and Heung-Min Son saw us out of sight five minutes into the second half.

Sofiane Boufal pulled a goal back but Harry soon completed his hat-trick, a textbook finish, clipping over Fraser Forster for 5-1. Dusan Tadic made it 5-2 late on.

Spurs: Lloris, Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Dembele (Sissoko), Eriksen, Dele (Winks), Son (Lamela), Kane.

Spurs 5-0 AFC Bournemouth - 2018

A second five-star performance on Boxing Day in as many years - but while 2017 was all about Harry Kane's hat-trick, 2018 was all about a different kind of treble from a young right-back at Wembley.

Kyle Walker-Peters, 21 at the time, now at Southampton, provided a hat-trick of assists as we blew the Saints away in the first half. Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son and Lucas were the beneficiaries of the Academy graduate's creative work down the right flank as we were 3-0 up by half time.

Harry inevitably got on the scoresheet before Sonny struck again to wrap it up at 5-0 on 70 minutes - making it five wins on the spin at the time in the Premier League, and 12 wins in our last 14 in all competitions.

Spurs: Lloris, Walker-Peters, Foyth, Alderweireld, Rose, Sissoko, Winks, Lucas, Eriksen (Davies), Son (Llorente), Kane (Skipp).
