Ange's latest on van de Ven - potential return vs United

Ange Postecoglou gave an update on Micky van de Ven's recovery from injury during his pre-Brighton press conference on Wednesday.
The Dutch international defender who made such a big impression in his first 12 games in a Spurs shirt has been out since pulling up with a hamstring issue against Chelsea on 6 November. To date, he's missed seven matches in the Premier League.
Ange said: "He's getting closer. We'll see him sometime in January. I don't think Burnley (FA Cup, 5 January), but Man United on the 14th I think, potentially. Again, I don't look at comeback dates until I see them training with us, and he hasn't been part of the group.
"He's not due to be part of the group this week, we'll see how he's going by the end of the week. Once they start training with the group, then we can start thinking about when they'll be available.
"He's at the tail end of it, for sure, so at some point... middle of January, definitely we'd be thinking he'll be available but, again, how we use him then, after such a long absence, is going to depend on where we feel he's at."
