Ange Postecoglou reported that Brennan Johnson’s injury is ‘nothing that should keep him out’ after the forward’s return to Forest ended early in our 2-0 win on Friday night.

Starting on the right, Brennan looked lively in the opening exchanges at the City Ground, got himself into dangerous areas and forced a smart save from Matt Turner.

Unfortunately, his involvement ended on the half-hour when, back defending a long throw, he clashed heads with Willy Boly. That left him floored, bloodied with a cut above his head, but he got back on his feet and was led back down the tunnel by our medical team as Oliver Skipp took his place.

Brennan’s departure saw Dejan Kulusevski switch to the right, and he delivered the cross for Richarlison to head us into the lead just before the break. Deki then smashed home for 2-0 in the second half, Yves Bissouma was sent off but our 10 men saw us home safely.

Asked about Brennan on our Review Show, Ange told us: “Brennan should be alright. It wasn’t great, a bit of a nasty cut to the head, but hopefully it’s just stitches and he should be okay.”

Also asked about Brennan in his post-match press conference, Ange said: “He should be okay. He's just got a nasty cut to his head, nothing that should keep him out.”
