Maddison takes Player of the Match award following maiden goal in south coast win

James Maddison has been named as your HSBC Player of the Match following his industrious display in our 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Picking up his first Player of the Match award of the season, James claimed 63 per cent of the vote - the biggest margin of victory for the prize so far this season - in an exclusive poll on the our official app straight after the game.
And it is a well deserved award as 'Madders' was our creative spark in the game, offering an option as he dropped deep to help counter the Cherries' high press before springing into action at the end of the field, driving forward, being incisive in his passing and making some clever late runs into the box.
That brought about our number 10's first goal in Lilywhite as, on 16 minutes, he snuck in behind the Bournemouth defence and timed his run to perfection before being picked out by Pape Matar Sarr and guiding the ball home.
In the game, our summer signing from Leicester City took on more shots than another player on the pitch (4), played 32 passes at a 91 per cent success rate, completed 100 per cent of his dribbles and played one key pass.
