Team news | Lucas suspended, no players back to face Brighton

Cristian Stellini has reported that none of our injured players will be available to take on Brighton on Saturday (3pm) with that lengthy injury list compounded by Lucas Moura’s suspension.

Lucas, pictured training on Thursday, above, picked up a straight red card for a challenge on Michael Keane in our 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park on Monday evening. He is suspended for three matches - Brighton, Bournemouth and Newcastle. He apologised to team-mates and fans on Tuesday.

Cristian had positive news on Richarlison (muscle injury), who could return against Bournemouth on Saturday week and said that Ben Davies (hamstring) had started training back on the pitches at Hotspur Way. Both players were injured at Southampton on 18 March. “It’s a start, it’s going well but with Ben, we have to wait a bit of time,” said Cristian.

Longer-term absentees Yves Bissouma (ankle), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Emerson Royal (knee) remain sidelined, meaning Cristian is without seven players for Saturday’s Premier League clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. “There is no good news in terms of players coming back for this game,” added Cristian.
