Spurs unchanged - Richarlison on bench
Cristian Stellini named an unchanged starting XI from Monday night's draw at Everton. The only change to the matchday squad saw Richarlison return from injury to be named among the substitutes in place of Lucas Moura, who was suspended after his red card at Goodison Park.

Colwill, Welbeck in for Brighton
Brighton made two changes from their last game - a 2-0 win against Bournemouth. Teenage striker Evan Ferguson dropped to the bench with Danny Welbeck coming back in, while Levi Colwill replaced Adam Webster in defence.
The report...
Goals from Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane gave us a battling 2-1 win in a hard-fought clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Son scored a sensational right-foot curler to open the scoring, becoming the first Asian player to reach 100 Premier League goals in the process, before Lewis Dunk headed the visitors level in the 33rd minute. But we weren’t to be denied in a game that was tetchy at times, Kane firing home the winner in the 79th minute to give us a much-needed three points, although Brighton will point to two disallowed goals as to why they might have deserved a share of the spoils.
It was an entertaining contest throughout the 90 minutes, with plenty of drama along the way. Just five minutes in, Eric Dier had to clear from inside our six-yard box after Kaoru Mitoma got on the end of a deep corner, but we grabbed the lead on 10 minutes with a beauty. Brighton thought they’d cleared a corner but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg won back possession 20 yards from goal, Son picked up the ball and curled the most sumptuous right-footed shot past Jason Steele and into the top corner.
We were having some decent possession in the final third without really making the most if it, however Brighton were doing likewise and had the ball in the net on 17 minutes through Mitoma but, after a VAR check, it was ruled that he controlled the ball with his arm before volleying home. The visitors then had two chances within seconds, both shots from distance which Hugo Lloris saved superbly, the first from Alexis Mac Allister and then from Moises Caicedo, the latter the merest of a fingertip to divert it onto the post. Just before the half hour mark, Dunk got across to block Hojbjerg’s angled drive but soon after, Solly March delivered a deep corner and Dunk was unmarked at the back post to head home.
It was us with the first opportunity of the second half, Kane clipping a lovely ball over the top for Ivan Perisic only for Steele to save the Croatia international’s shot while Brighton had another ‘goal’ ruled out for handball by VAR, Danny Welbeck’s shot hitting the arm of Mac Allister on its way past Lloris.
The game was real end-to-end stuff and we went close twice with Kane and Dejan Kulusevski blazing over the bar, while Brighton had penalty appeals waved away following a challenge from Hojbjerg on Mitoma - both managers shown red cards in amongst it all after a coming together between personnel on both benches. But we were back in front 11 minutes from time with a well-worked goal, Son finding Hojbjerg down the right and his cut-back was thumped home by Kane from just inside the area. Brighton threw everything at us in the final stages but we held firm despite a number of close shaves, to pick up our fifth home win on the trot in the Premier League.

Key moment
It was such a crazy game that the big moments seemed to come at regular intervals! Obviously, the goals were crucial and Harry Kane’s winner was the decisive incident, but Brighton’s second disallowed goal proved to be a turning point. With the score at 1-1 early in the second half, the visitors were enjoying a good period and looked to have taken the lead through Danny Welbeck’s shot. But closer inspection showed the ball hit Alexis Mac Allister’s arm on the way in and VAR intervened to rule it out. Had it stood, it would have been a real test for us to come back but as it was, the decision lifted us and the crowd, and we pushed on to find a winner.

Goal of the game
Heung-Min Son (10) - Spurs 1-0 Brighton

Star of the show - Oliver Skipp
After a couple of disappointing away draws in the league, we needed a good team display on home soil and we got that in what was a tough game. Everyone put in a decent shift, particularly the likes of Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Pedro Porro but Oliver Skipp was the standout performer. The young midfielder was involved all over the pitch – battling away in midfield, winning tackles in defence and bursting forward with the ball on occasions to move the play deep into Brighton’s territory.

Stats a fact!

Ton up for Sonny
The most significant statistic of the afternoon certainly belonged to Heung-Min Son. Our South Korean started the season on 93 Premier League goals and would have expected to hit the 100-mark fairly early in the campaign. But it hasn’t quite happened for him this term, so he’ll have been delighted to finally score his 100th PL goal – and what a strike it was! He becomes only the 34th player to reach a century of PL goals.

99 (at home) for Harry!
Harry Kane netted his 99th home Premier League goal this afternoon. That was also his 10th goal against Brighton and he has now hit double figures against nine different clubs in the competition - Leicester, Everton, Arsenal, Southampton, West Ham, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Stoke and Brighton.
Cristian's comment
“We came from two matches where we were ahead, one two-goals up (Southampton, 3-1 up, 3-3), the other one-goal up (Everton on Monday, 1-1) but conceded goals and conceded a draw. Today, we fought a lot to win this game. This reaction is very important.
"We have to be happy because we have a team ready to be strong against this type of opponent. It’s a very important win. We knew that it would be a tough match against a team that keeps the ball a lot, but we were well prepared. We defended, we counter-attacked, we also created some good chances to score in the first half, maybe the best in the game. We also pressed high and won many balls.
"We can do it better, we can create more situations to try to score again, but we are very happy. I think we played a good match. We have a lot of things to celebrate."

What it means
Recent results elsewhere have seen us slip out of the top four over the last week, with Manchester United and Newcastle United both climbing above us. Both teams also won this afternoon so our victory was important to keep us in touch and we’re still only just three points behind those two teams, although they each have a game in hand on us. However, we do still have to play both of them.
Next up...
It’s another home game next weekend as we welcome Bournemouth to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Cherries picked up a huge victory away to Leicester City today as they fight to avoid relegation, climbing up to 15th place albeit still just three points above the drop zone. Bournemouth have lost on all five of their previous visits to N17, scoring just twice, and we’ll be looking to continue that form and notch up our sixth consecutive Premier League home win.
