Spurs Women forward Jessica Naz surprised aspiring footballers from Broomfield School in Enfield earlier today (Tuesday 27 September) as she officially opened their new 3G pitch.
Inspired by the heroics of England Women's National Team over the summer, girls from Broomfield School now have new facilities to develop their footballing skills and were put through their paces by Jess during the very first football session to be played on the pitch.
Jess, who was named our Women’s Young Player of the Year last season, later spoke to the girls about her journey to our first team, the importance of teamwork and commitment and her hopes that more local girls will aspire to follow in the footsteps of England’s Lionesses.
Speaking after the session, Jess said: “I was delighted to meet with the girls football teams at Broomfield School and officially open their fantastic new pitch. It was great to hear so much enthusiasm for football and the skills on show were pretty impressive too!”
Ally Tansley, Head of PE at Broomfield School said: “We were delighted to welcome Jess to the school and provide our students with an amazing opportunity to meet such a positive role model. Girls football is ever popular amongst our students and the chance to meet a Spurs player will help encourage them for the future”.
One of the students said: “Meeting Jess and learning all about her journey as a professional footballer was so inspiring and the chance to have a kick-about with her at our school was a dream come true!”
