Dier returns to Three Lions fold

Eric Dier has earned a recall to the England squad for this month’s UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Germany.

The 28-year-old defender hasn’t been called up for international duty since March, 2021, and hasn’t featured since a 4-0 home win over Iceland in November, 2020.

Capped 45 times since his debut against Spain in November, 2015, Eric joins Three Lions captain Harry Kane in Gareth Southgate’s latest squad, for what is the last England camp before the start of the World Cup in November.

Southgate’s men visit Italy on Friday 23 September before hosting Germany at Wembley the following Monday.
