Look out for another spectacular tifo display in the South Stand ahead of our huge UEFA Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday evening (8pm).
An initiative led by THFC Flags and supported by AJ Tracey, fans in our iconic 17,500 single-tier stand will hold cards up for 60 seconds to form a choreographed image designed to inspire the players as they emerge from the tunnel approximately five minutes before kick-off.
THFC Flags are a fan-led, fan-funded group who have helped produce a number of huge flags seen on display in the South Stand, supporting the Club and celebrating players past and present, the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Cuti Romero, Richarlison and Antonio Conte flying proudly alongside Bill Nicholson, Gary Mabbutt, Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa.
Most recently, THFC Flags had a specially commissioned flag paying tribute to Gian Piero Ventrone, our popular fitness coach who sadly passed away earlier this month.
Founder of THFC Flags, Matt, told us: “Since we started the initiative to create more fan-led visual displays at the stadium, we’ve been overwhelmed by the feedback, generosity and donations from supporters.
“One of the aims from the beginning was to create a fan-designed, selected and funded tifo, seen by the world on the biggest stage. When we qualified for the Champions League, we worked tirelessly over the summer to put a plan in place to get to where we are today. It’s something we are hugely proud of and hope to bring even more displays to the stadium in the future.”
