Antonio previews Eintracht Frankfurt: “In this competition, every game is massive”

Antonio Conte is looking for the players to bounce back quickly from our derby loss at Arsenal when we take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League this evening (8pm UK, 9pm local).
We’ve reached Matchday Three of Group D and it could be a pivotal week in an evenly poised group as we face the Bundesliga side back-to-back, with MD4 following next Wednesday (12 October, 8pm) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Sporting currently top the group on six points, we have three points with Frankfurt, while Marseille are yet to get off the mark.
They are really strong, but we have to think about ourselves, to concentrate on what we have to do
Speaking to SPURSPLAY at Deutsche Bank Park on Tuesday evening, Antonio said: “At this level, you have to be good to cope with enthusiasm after a win and, at the same time, when the mood is not so high because you lost a game. This is football, especially if you are playing in Europe. We are playing every three days and you have to cope with this situation, highs and lows.
“This game is not decisive, but it’s an important game because in this group there is a lot of balance, and we have to try to go to the next round.”
Frankfurt won 1-0 at Marseille in MD2 and come into this game off the back of a 2-0 win against table-topping Union Berlin at the weekend. They sit sixth in the Bundesliga, three points of the top with four wins and two draws in eight matches so far.
“For sure, they are in a good moment of form,” added Antonio. “They won the last game against Union Berlin, top of the table, and you know when you play this competition, every game is a massive game and you have to be prepared to find difficulty, and to create difficult for your opponent. They are really strong, but we have to think about ourselves, to concentrate on what we have to do and try to do well in what we’ve prepared.”
