I Rossoneri

Serie A champions last season, AC Milan are managed by Stefano Pioli and have the likes of Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori, Simon Kjaer, Olivier Giroud, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rafael Leao and Divock Origi in their ranks. Currently second behind Napoli in Italy, they reached the Round of 16 by finishing second in Group E, won by Chelsea.

The second most successful team in the Champions League/European Cup with seven titles, behind Real Madrid's 14, we've faced AC Milan twice in European competition.

The first was in the semi-finals of the first-ever UEFA Cup in 1972, a tie we won 3-2 on aggregate to progress to the final. Steve Perryman scored twice as we won the home leg 2-1 before Alan Mullery's thunderbolt secured a 1-1 draw in the San Siro. We went on to beat Wolves over two legs to lift the trophy.

We met again in the Round of 16 in 2011. We won the first leg at the San Siro thanks to Peter Crouch's goal, before a goalless draw in the second leg took us into the quarter-finals, where we fell to Real Madrid.

We were last at the San Siro in September, 2018, where two late goals saw Inter home 2-1 in the first match of the 2018/19 group stage. However, we won the return at Wembley 1-0, made it out of the group and all the way to the final, where we were beaten by Liverpool in Madrid.

RB Leipzig v Manchester City
Club Brugge v SL Benfica
Liverpool v Real Madrid

No 'away goals' rule

A reminder that the so-called away goals rule has been removed, so ties level after 180 minutes will go to extra time irrespective of the number of goals each team has scored at home and away. If the teams still cannot be separated after the additional 30 minutes, the tie goes to a penalty shoot-out.
