Spurs Women international action in November
Wed 09 November 2022, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur
Jessica Naz and Asmita Ale kick-off a busy schedule for our women’s players over the next week when England’s Under-23s host Netherlands on Thursday evening before travelling to Rome to face Italy on Monday.
With World Cup qualification secured for Canada, Morocco, Jamaica and Norway, preparations are continuing at pace for the tournament next year with a number of our players set for action in a series of international friendlies.
Skipper Shelina Zadorsky has travelled to Brazil for Canada’s two matches in four days against their hosts. The two teams last met at the quarter-final stage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where Canada beat Brazil 4-3 on penalties on their way to eventually becoming gold medallists.
Rosella Ayane’s Morocco made history earlier this year after they reached the Africa Cup of Nations final to book their place at next year’s prestigious tournament. Looking to build on their momentum, the Atlas Lionesses play Ireland in Marbella.
Moving north in Spain, Celin Bizet could feature for Norway with two tests lined up against France on Friday and European champions, England on Tuesday.
Rebecca Spencer and Drew Spence have joined up with the Jamaica squad for two fixtures against Paraguay as the Reggae Girlz build-up to the showpiece event next summer.
Among the other fixtures of note is Wales’ friendly match against Finland on Saturday evening, where Angharad James could find herself up against Spurs team-mates Tinja-Riikka Korpela and Eveliina Summanen.
Elsewhere, Nikola Karczewska has withdrawn from Poland’s squad due to injury.
