Heung-Min Son's outstanding performances in 2021/22 have been recognised by being shortlisted for the Premier League's EA SPORTS Player of the Season award.
Sonny's strike against Arsenal in a crucial north London derby victory on Thursday evening took him to 21 league goals as we fight it out for a place in the top four. It also moved him to within one goal of Liverpool's Mo Salah (22) in the race for the Premier League's Golden Boot.
As always, the occasion brought the best out of the South Korean, who was fouled for the penalty for Harry Kane to open the scoring, and delivered the corner headed home by Harry for 2-0 in the first half. Sonny then took us out of reach with a fine finish for the final 3-0 scoreline two minutes into the second half.
It's the first time Sonny has reached the 20-goal mark in a league season in his career going back to Hamburg in 2010/11. His previous best league tally for us was 19 last term. He's now up to 91 goals in the Premier League and 129 goals for us in 323 appearances in all competitions.
Sonny is up against Liverpool pair Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joao Cancelo and Kevin de Bruyne of City, Southampton's James Ward-Prowse, Jarrod Bowen at West Ham and Arsenal's Bukayo Saka.
Voting is open now and closes at 6pm on Monday (16 May) - vote for Sonny via the link above and below!
