First pro contract for Sayers

We are delighted to announce that Charlie Sayers has signed his first professional contract with the Club.

The defender, who celebrated his 18th birthday on Tuesday, joined our Academy from Southend United in December of last year and has made nine appearances for our Under-18s to date, many of them as captain, scoring twice.

He has also stepped up to start two matches for our Under-23s in recent weeks.

Prior to joining us, Charlie made six first team appearances for Southend in the National League during the opening few months of the current campaign.
